Modern Edge was built to work differently. Closer to the challenge. Closer to the people.

After more than twenty years helping organisations and agencies navigate change, the same pattern kept emerging. New technology arrives, ambition surges, and the human element gets quietly left behind. The focus shifts to what the tools can do rather than what the people need. The strategy gets written but the implementation stalls. The gap between what the technology can do and how teams actually use it is where most transformation succeeds or fails.

Modern Edge exists to close that gap. To bring strategy, technology and people together in a way that actually works, where the goal isn't just to adopt something new, but to do the work better, create more relevant communications and drive more meaningful change in the audiences that matter.

Modern Edge was founded on two decades at Ogilvy and Weber Shandwick, always working where comms and technology meet. Building and leading digital communications teams for some of the world's largest organisations and agencies, before focus shifted almost entirely to applied AI in communications from early 2023.

Over that time came new web formats, a heightened focus on paid, the social media revolution, mobile-first thinking, the metaverse moment and now AI. Each wave arrived with hype, fear and genuine possibility. The work was always consistent: cut through the noise and build the capability for teams to use it well. AI is different in scale and pace, but the fundamental challenge still feels eerily familiar.

The result of navigating each of those shifts for organisations across telecoms, pharma, FMCG, technology, energy and financial services is deep experience in what it actually takes to make change work. That means delivering genuine value through digital comms transformation, building AI capability programmes, redesigning how teams and agencies operate, and working with leaders to turn ambition into practical, lasting change.

One golden rule never changes: technology is most powerful when it makes people better at what they do, not when it replaces what made them good in the first place.
